What's the best class in Enshrouded?
There's no single "best class" — Enshrouded uses a flexible skill tree system. Battlemage (Wand + Shield) is the best all-rounder for solo play. Barbarian (2H) dominates melee. Ranger/Assassin has the highest burst DPS. Start with Double Jump and Water Aura — these benefit every build. See full tier list →
Where should I build my first base?
New players should renovate Longkeep (starter town) or Harvest Homestead — both have pre-existing wells, walls, and roofs. For scenic builds: Pillars of Creation (central map, glide anywhere). For restoration projects: Fort Kelvin (community favorite). Don't overcommit to your first location — you can place up to 10 Flame Altars. Full base guide →
How do I survive the Shroud?
The Shroud timer limits how long you can stay inside. Upgrade your Flame Altar to increase the timer and access higher-level Shroud zones. Carry Shroud Survival potions for emergencies, and always know your nearest exit point before entering deep Shroud.
Can I respec my skills?
Yes. You can respec at the Flame Altar using Runes — it costs just 1 Rune per skill point and the cost does not increase. Experiment freely! Our skill guide helps with planning →

Yes — Enshrouded launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on October 15, 2026 alongside the 1.0 release. The console versions support cross-play with PC players.
